OUR MISSION

Welcome to The Crescendo Project! We are a student-run nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the beauty of music to elementary school students in Palm Beach County, Florida. Through free, weekly piano lessons and dedicated support, we aim to empower young minds and enrich lives while fostering a love and appreciation for music.

We aim to increase music education equity and to build an educational pipeline by increasing resources and access for students from Title I schools to music choice programs in Palm Beach County.

Founder

Josetta Wang

Josetta Wang is the Founder of The Crescendo Project. She is a first-year at Harvard College. As a pianist and a Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipient, music has always been integral to her life. She believes it is a privilege to share the joy of music with others and hopes to make music education more accessible to elementary school students. Wang is dedicated to helping children ignite their musical passion and grow their love for music.

Vania Montoya

Vania Montoya is a first year at the University of Florida Online. She has been playing piano for 13 years and is passionate about engaging with students as a piano teacher. She is dedicated to making her community a better place through music, service, and leadership.

Sophia Gary

Sophia Gary is a piano major at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She has loved playing piano since she was 7 years old, and she is so excited to be able to share her passion for music through the crescendo project. She hopes to teach kids important musical skills while also keeping the atmosphere fun and encouraging!

Callie Gao

Callie Gao is a sophomore piano major at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She has been playing the piano for 9 years and is dedicated to spreading a joy for music and the art of piano to a new generation. She loves working with kids and their creative, fresh ideas, and is so excited to continue developing her own skills as a teacher while building a community of free expression, passion, and melodies.

Winnie Huang

Winnie Huang is a sophomore piano major at Dreyfoos school of the arts. She has been playing the piano for 7 years and hopes to share her love and passion for music to others, and one of the ways to do this is by teaching students through the crescendo project and exposing them to the beauty of the piano. She can’t wait to spread her joy and knowledge of the piano to others!

London DeYoung

London DeYoung is a sophomore at Alexander W Dreyfoos School of the Arts. He has played piano for 10 years and is mainly focused on the technical and rhythmic qualities of playing the piano. London has many qualifications for working with kids, one of which is being a counselor at a summer camp for arts kids. He will love to see everyone's different perspectives and approaches to piano this year. He is very passionate about teaching students and is excited to see them find joy at the piano!

Saee Joshi

Saee Joshi is a current senior at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She has been learning piano since she was 9, around the same time as these students are starting their journey in music. She has 4 years of teaching experience and absolutely loves working with kids! She cannot wait to spread her knowledge and teach others about how amazing music is. It feels it is an honor to guide other young kids through their musical journey.

Hannah Zimmerman

Hannah Zimmerman is a senior and attends Dreyfoos School of the Arts, where she majors in piano. She’s been playing piano for about 8 years, and it has been a lifelong passion of hers. She loves how the Crescendo Project provides many opportunities for these kids to grow and expand their knowledge in music, along with being able to experience the beautiful world of music and the many great things that it offers. She can’t wait to begin this chapter of the Crescendo Project!

Isabel Tejeda

Isabel Tejeda is a senior piano major at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She is deeply passionate about the piano and enjoys working with children. She is determined to continue pursuing music and share with others the joys of learning and self-expression.

Jeffrey Zimmerman

Jeffrey Zimmerman is a senior piano major at Dreyfoos and effectively demonstrated his leadership and commitment to the Crescendo Project. He has been playing piano for the past 11 years and his favorite aspect of The Crescendo Project is engaging the kids by keeping the lessons fun.

Yi Du

Yi Du is 20 years old and a sophomore from UM-SJTU Institute. As a mathematics & algorithm enthusiast, he believe the most important aspect of knowledge is to help others solve problems. He is truly passionate about this project because it allows him to give back to the community through his knowledge and skill. By volunteering to build this website, he applied his expertise to make a meaningful impact. He finds it fulfilling to see his knowledge being put to use in a way that benefits others.
